CANINE EYE REGISTRY FOUNDATION
The Canine Eye Registry Foundation is a registration of breeding
dogs that are free of genetic eye disease. Screening of dogs is
performed by board certified ophthalmologists on a yearly basis
and the forms are sent by the owners to the registry. Purebred dogs
have a higher incidence of genetic eye disease such as cataracts,
retinal dysplasia and retinal degeneration. It is important to test
breeding dogs yearly to try and prevent the spread of these blinding
diseases.
